Steven Estcourt

Steve brings over 20 years of experience in financial technology, combining deep technical expertise with strategic oversight. After spending more than a decade in London building valuation and control systems for leading financial institutions, he returned to South Africa to apply that experience to the local investment industry.

Since founding Ocellics in 2007, Steve has been instrumental in leading the development of strategic solutions for asset managers and institutional investors. His focus lies in aligning technology with business needs, ensuring the design and implementation of scalable, efficient systems that support long-term operational goals.

Director & Software Architect

Jonathan McKie

Jonathan has built a career around designing and delivering robust, high-performance systems for the investment industry. Before joining Ocellics in 2013, he led software architecture at RisCura, where he specialised in building systems for risk reporting and data management.

At Ocellics, Jonathan leads platform architecture and development strategy. He plays a central role in shaping technical solutions, from planning and design through to implementation, ensuring they meet the performance and integration demands of complex financial environments.

Director & Team Lead

Diederick Kruisinga

Diederick specialises in the design and delivery of user-focused software for the investment industry. Prior to joining Ocellics in 2018, he spent eight years as a lead developer at Kagiso Asset Management, building front-end systems, data pipelines and BI dashboards.

At Ocellics, he leads front-end architecture and development, with a strong focus on usability and performance. His role involves translating complex requirements into clean, intuitive interfaces that support informed decision-making and efficient workflows.

Our Motivation

"As a software engineer in finance, I noticed companies struggling due to incomplete or incorrect data. Departments had limited access to data, leading to ad-hoc solutions. I wanted to solve this issue holistically, making the development of new financial solutions a lot more fun."
